Sometimes when you write, you realize that you can only write for so long until the truth of the matter is discovered.

In our heads, our thoughts come and go. We are the pedestrian stopping, then going, then stopping again, trying to get to the other side of a resolution. Every car we see and analyze is a passing thought. Some cars are newer than others. Some we remember, others we forget.

What are the things you keep thinking about but allow them to keep passing by?

These are your luxury thoughts. They are valuable and worth a lot in the system that is you.

But when you write you’re the pen and the paper. With each forward step the pathway behind you darkens with no hope of turning back. It’s a very scary but affirming feeling.

this is how I visualize writing in my head + steps disappearing behind me

The month of August is always an ass-whooping for me every year. For some reason, that month is always the most challenging and, like clockwork, I get super depressed and feel like more of a participant watching my life than the lead player.

I think a big part of it in recent years has been my Mom’s death anniversary being August 3rd. Even if it’s not on my mind the feelings still come over me.

Then I blink and realize I got through the month and life continues to move on regardless of how I feel, which I choose to think of positively.

The clock is going to keep moving no matter what. So if I just keep going, things will progress.

Minute by minute.
Hour by hour.
Day by day.

Of course there’s uncertainty about a lot of things, but there is always a blurry outline of what will happen in my life.

So imma just keep moving forward in that direction.

Cause the only way to predict the future is to write history myself.
