I moved to Houston
new chapter
I’ve journeyed across America and landed in Houston, Texas.
I knew it was time to close my chapter in Maryland because I wasn’t getting energy from that environment anymore. It actually was draining me. So I thought to myself “I’m moving to Houston.” Then I said to myself in my 800 sq ft warehouse, “I’m moving to Houston.” The next step was to burn the boats. I went on Instagram + FB Marketplace and posted that I was selling everything in my warehouse/home that had been my safe haven for the last few years.
One by one, people started pulling up and buying things until all I had left was the remainder of Veii inventory.
As the story goes, I get a call from my friend Tyrone saying he has an opportunity for me. My ears perked up immediately. He told me I can get paid to drive a merch truck on tour with B2K and Bow Wow, going city to city. I told him I’d get back to him in a day or two.
I go on Ticketmaster and see the tour is starting in a week. Charlotte… DC… and then you guessed it, HoustonfuckingTexas.
I text him back and say I’m down.
A few days later I’m loading all the Veii inventory and my box of personal items into a 26-foot box truck and driving 20 hours to a city that’s been calling me from 1,408 miles away.

the studio/warehouse/storage unit will always hold a special place in my heart
On that drive, I told myself I’d figure everything out when I got there. Just move.
Two days later got to Houston. I put my inventory in a storage unit and after bout an hour of searching found a spot on Facebook Marketplace, a nice house in the burbs. Cool Nigerian dude my age named Timi was looking to rent it out. Went to go see the place. Signed lease. Paid my first month’s rent.
Now I’m sitting here typing this life update, and it’s crazy because this was just a thought in my head five weeks ago.
I love it here. I’m already building a solid foundation of habits, people, and opportunities that I’ll continue to cultivate.

Had a fitness comp(HYROX) a few days after I got here. I identify as he/him/cowboy now.
